» Jeep Gladiator Eco Diesel in Australia
Dec 11, 2021 - 12:30 PM - by REEBOK BASECAMP BACKPACK DARK HEATHER GREY NEW WITH TAGS GYM SPO

The first diesel-powered Jeep Gladiator has been launched in the US due to “overwhelming consumer demand”.

The 2021 Jeep Gladiator EcoDiesel not only delivers significantly more torque than the 3.6-litre Pentastar petrol V6 – the only engine available in Australia – but new standards of fuel economy and driving range for the dual-cab 4x4 ute.

Good for outputs of 195kW of power and 600Nm of torque, the 3.0-litre EcoDiesel V6 will be matched exclusively to an eight-speed automatic transmission in the Jeep Gladiator – just like the petrol V6 version, which offers 209kW/347Nm.

Jeep says the transmission, which has been calibrated for low-RPM shifts and extreme on- and off-road rigours, has “more than 40 individual shift maps to optimise shift points for fuel economy,

» SEMA 2021 Jeeps on show
Nov 04, 2021 - 1:42 PM - by Just Married

The SEMA Show takes place November 2 - November 5, 2021 at the Las Vegas Convention Center located at 3150 Paradise Road, Las Vegas, NV 89109.

There is no other trade show where you can see thousands of product innovations from 1,300 new and iconic exhibitors, experience the latest product and custom vehicle trends, get access to 70+ free professional skill-enhancing education sessions and make career-changing connections with peers, leaders, and celebrities at the industry's most anticipated in-person networking event.

Las Vegas really is a strange place. Home to over half a million, yet host to tens of millions annually.

As such, it’s a bit like Waikiki, the famous beach in Hawaii’s island of Oahu that isn’t really a beach at all. Instead, it’s mostly concrete with several inches of beach-like material (I think it’s called sand) spread thinly over the top. Las

» Lifting a Wrangler 4xe
May 03, 2021 - 2:49 PM - by China ... P-478a … 500 Yuan … 1941 … *VF* ... PMG 20. VF.

Like its gasoline and diesel counterparts, the 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe will get a number of accessories under the Jeep Performance Parts banner, including a lift kit.

Designed to raise the height of the body to increase clearance for off-roading, this is the first lift kit offered for a plug-in hybrid and, to the best of our knowledgenot counting height-adjustable suspensions, of courseand the first offered on any plug-in vehicle.

Priced at $1,495, the lift kit raises ride height by two inches, and was specifically designed for the Wrangler 4xe, according to a Jeep press release. The kit includes four springs, four Fox shocks, front lower control arms, front and rear stabilizer links, front and rear bump stops, and necessary fasteners, all packaged in a reusable wooden crate.

In addition to the lift kit, Jeep is offering a long list accessories for the Wrangler 4xe, including stuff

» Gladiator: But will it tow?
Dec 04, 2020 - 12:06 PM - by White Noise Machine for Sleeping Baby 38 Sound Adults Kids,...

Character and heritage are as much Jeep's stock and trade as off-road capability. "It's a Jeep thing" can be as much praise as it can be damnation, though, depending on who's saying it and why. The 2021 Jeep Gladiator has gotten better at being a Jeep, but it's hardly better at being a truck.

The Gladiator's repeat invitation to our Truck of the Year competition hinged on a pair of important new options: a 260-hp, 442-lb-ft 3.0-liter turbodiesel V-6 and a desert-bashing suspension on the new Mojave. Although not offered together, the EcoDiesel engine and Mojave trim level each bring impressive capability to the Gladiator line. Both, however, come with compromises to its ability to do truck things.

The diesel engine brings much-needed low-end torque to the Gladiator's repertoire, making the truck not only empirically quicker but also more comfortable to drive. It gets up

» Will Australia get the Jeep Wrangler 392 V8 in production
Nov 18, 2020 - 11:54 AM - by Nigel Williams Goss Kennedy Meeks Signed Sports Illustrated No L

Jeep has officially revealed its most powerful Wrangler ever, the Rubicon 392, for the US market. Getting the bad news out of the way first, this 350kW/637Nm monster is being produced in left-hand drive only, and Jeep says there are no plans for right-hand-drive for now. No doubt there are plenty of local Jeep fans who hope that might change one day.

All that power comes via the '392' namesake, whose cubic inches refers to the 6.4-litre 'Hemi' V8 under the bonnet. It's the first V8 powered Wrangler in 40 years, which has historically relied mostly on six-cylinder power for motivation.

This turns the Wrangler into an impressively fast car. The company claims it can do the 0 to 100km/h dash in 4.5 seconds, and 13 seconds flat for the quarter-mile.

The Wrangler Rubicon 392 will only come in four-door 'Unlimited' format, without a short-wheelbase 'Limited' variant.

» Daily Driving A 2021 Jeep Gladiator EcoDiesel Rubicon
Oct 24, 2020 - 1:27 PM - by Earrings--Swarovski repurposed glass butterflies 2"Beauty, FAB

Since the first introduction of the new Jeep Gladiator, we've been waiting patiently for the promised EcoDiesel engine option. Well, that time has finally arrived, and for 2021 Jeep's fabulous 3.0L EcoDiesel V-6 has joined the 3.6L gasoline V-6 on the Gladiator's options list.

While we recently had the opportunity to jump behind the wheel for a quick introduction to the new diesel-equipped Gladiator, we naturally wanted a bit more seat time. So, when Jeep asked if we'd like to try one for a week we hurriedly said yes.

Now, one quick note before we get started: We've focused quite heavily on testing Gladiator models over the past year and have put a pretty good cross section of the lineup through the paces. We've tested the Sport S, Overland, Rubicon, and Mojave. For this report, we're going to focus primarily on the EcoDiesel engine.

The Gladiator tester we got

» Selling Your Jeep? Here's How to Increase Its Value
Oct 15, 2020 - 12:47 PM - by PHiSH 4/20/22 MSG “New Year's Run” Poster Print Welker MADISON S

Cars depreciate at a very high rate. In fact, once you drive your new jeep out of the showroom, it loses a fraction of its value that it will never regain. You cannot prevent this, but you can slow it down. Read on for five simple ways to increase the resale value of your car:

Invest in regular maintenance
The best way to ensure damage doesn't build up to irreversible levels is to invest in proper maintenance. Make a point of inspecting your car at least once every week for early signs of damage and deterioration. If you spot anything that you can't fix at home, check with a mechanic immediately. It would also help if you took your car for professional inspection at least twice every year.
Upgrade to LED lighting
The aesthetics of your car are almost as significant as the performance part in the eyes of many potential buyers. Consider replacing your stock lights with new LED lighting to... [Read More]

» Cheaper Jeep Gladiator ute coming to Oz
Oct 05, 2020 - 2:41 PM - by Squirrel Defeater Cylinder Pole Baffle - 6.25L x 6.25W x 15.00H

If you’re keen on the new Jeep Gladiator but can’t stretch to the sky-high $75,000-plus entry price don’t fret, because there’s a more affordable version coming.

Available in Australia by the end of this year, the Jeep Gladiator Sport S will be priced about $10,000 lower than the Overland variant ($75,450 plus ORCs), which will open the all-new dual-cab 4x4 ute range when it is officially launched later this month.

Few other details have been revealed, but Jeep Australia product manager Guillaume Drelon said the cheaper, entry-level Gladiator will likely be based on the more urban-friendly Overland variant, but with fewer standard features.

It’s unclear what equipment buyers of the circa-$65K Gladiator will miss out on, but the Sport S will likely be powered by the same 209kW/347Nm 3.6-litre petrol V6 paired to an eight-speed automatic

» The Electrified Jeep Wrangler 4xe Is Coming, Silently
Sep 02, 2020 - 1:39 PM - by Bertazzoni Z310032 Fresco Drawer, Large

We are all ears whenever Jeep announces it's doing something to the Wrangler. The rugged SUV is the bedrock of Jeep and the brand is the price of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA).

Our enamor with the current Wrangler is no secret. In fact, we named our 2019 SUV of the Year. And we have known for some time that a plug-in hybrid version was due for a 2020 launch. FCA is great about releasing five-year plans that get us all excited, but the automaker also is more crisis-prone than most automakers. As such, we have learned virtually all the company's plans are subject to change on a whim.

So we were heartened to learn during FCA's 2020 annual shareholder meeting that the Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) is still on track for a 2020 launch. Mike Manley, chief executive officer of FCA, said the global unveiling of the electrified Wrangler is coming in

» Jeeps Big Aussie comeback plan. Will it work?
Aug 07, 2020 - 7:25 PM - by Barney In Space Playskool Wood Puzzle

Recently arrived FCA Australia MD and CEO Kevin Flynn takes some time out to speak with Unsealed 4X4 to outline Jeep’s Aussie comeback plan… a plan that’s aimed at fixing the marque’s damaged reputation in Australia.

At the start of my one-on-one interview with Kevin Flynn, he told me he firmly believes that all of the DNA of the original Willys is baked into every Jeep built today. He should know, because although he’s only been at the helm of Jeep in Australia for around a year, prior to that he was President & Managing Director of FCA in India for almost five years, where he was charged with launching the Jeep brand and managing right-hand drive production of the Jeep Compass, as well as establishing an export strategy for Jeep brand right-hand markets, including parts distribution.

There’s no doubt the Jeep brand has problems in Australia, with horror stories over the past 10

» 2020 JL Wrangler and Gladiator colours revealed
Apr 13, 2020 - 1:36 PM - by WESTERN HORSE TACK ANTIQUE GOLD CROSS BERRY SQUARE CONCHO 1 inch

Bikini, Hellayella, and Punk'n are all colors buyers can request on the exterior of their new Jeep Wrangler.

The bursts of bright and daring paint job choices are different than any other vehicle in the Jeep lineup for good reason. It's because Wrangler owners aren't like any other vehicle owners according to Mark Allen, Head of Jeep Design.

To come up with the Wrangler's color palette, the exterior design team works hand in hand with other design studio personnel. It's an organic process that tries not to follow traditional corporate structure - something that works well for Allen and La Shirl Turner, Head of Advance Colors & Materials.

The process takes 12-18 months for the creation of a new paint color while the refresh of an old color shortens that timeline to three to six months.

When developing a new color offering, the team looks at the balance

» 2020 Jeep JT Gladiator Australian Prices Released
Mar 04, 2020 - 12:21 PM - by 2007 Infiniti G35X Sedan Heater Core/Evaporator Assembly

The 2020 Jeep Gladiator will go on-sale in Australia from May with prices starting at $75,450+ORCs for the Gladiator Overland.

The Jeep Gladiator will go on-sale in Australia from May in just two flavours and with no diesel engine. Prices start from $75,450+ORCs for the Gladiator Overland and from $76,450+ORCs for the Rubicon.

Australia is the first right-hand drive market in the world to get the Jeep Gladiator but while some markets get access to a diesel engine and a manual transmission, Australia wont. Making the announcement today, Jeep Australia boss, Kevin Flynn said, The Jeep Gladiator will be the first Jeep truck to land on Australian shores; it is so different, so competent, and it is so Jeep. It is the ultimate enabler for people to find and make their own adventures.

The excitement and anticipation for the Jeep Gladiator has been tremendous. It

» Jeep JL Wrangler and JT Gladiator review
Feb 20, 2020 - 3:56 PM - by Bathroom Chrome Basin Sink Faucet Single Handle&Hole Wall Mount

From the very first time a cylinder fired, sending drive to a wheel, the world of off-road transportation has been slowly but steadily evolving. Each new model takes what was built by the last generation and adds to it. The worst aspects are removed; the best amplified and expanded – all with a clear lineage, if you look hard enough.

No brand flaunts its heritage more than Jeep, and this is evident in every inch of the two wild American rigs seen here. There’s perhaps no greater example of continuous, albeit slow, vehicle evolution than this pigeon pair of black, newer than new and tougher than tough Wranglers: one JL, one JT, and both a direct result of what came before them.

Alfred is the owner of the JL Wrangler, a five-door wagon evolved from the game-changing JK Wrangler Unlimited. Evelyn is the woman behind the wheel of what is

» Is the Australian Jeep Gladiator struggling?
Feb 14, 2020 - 1:47 PM - by WRP Linkage Bearing Kit Yamaha YZ250F 2010-2011

The 2020 Jeep Gladiator is on Struggle Street, according to Automotive News, an outcome which is somewhat surprising but one which we sort of saw coming last month. It seems that $US33,545 ($50,246) is a lot of money to pay for a pickup.

By Jeep standards, that price is about in line with what youd pay for other Jeepsthe base price for a Wrangler is $US28,295 ($42,382)but it does seem remarkable that the Gladiator is the priciest of any standard Jeep vehicle, and for no good apparent reason.

But thats all on paper (or at least the internet) at least, since Auto News says that the discounts have been heavy after sales dipped post-launch.

The Gladiator is competing with trucks like the Chevy Colorado and the Ford Ranger, both of which have a base price of less than $US30,000 ($44,936). It also apparently is drawing competition from inside its own house.

One dealer who asked
